Texas Hold’Em poker players in Las Vegas are in for a treat. The Nevada Gaming Commission has approved a new variation of the popular game to be played in the casinos along the strip. Royal Hold’Em is already being touted as the ‘world’s fastest poker game’ and it is being marketed by New Poker, LLC out of Las Vegas. It is the company’s first foray into live casino and poker room play and they are hoping that it paves the way for other poker variations that they are developing.
Royal Hold’Em is played by the same rules as Texas Hold’Em poker, but instead of using a full 52 card deck, only 20 cards will be available – 10s through Aces. One game can be played between two to six players who will follow the same betting schedule as the standard Hold’Em variation including head to head play against the players and no betting against the house.
According to poker pro Scott Fishman on playing with only the twenty face cards, “Hands are obviously higher and just about every player always bets to the flop. A lot of hands are won on the last card dealt and a Royal Flush or a bad beat can happen with the turn of a card. It’s a hot game.â€
The game is appealing to players because it allows for more bets to be made and fewer hands to be folded. The pots are larger, the game play quicker, and there is more excitement among the players all around. As more and more younger players are discovering the fun in poker, there is a call for more action at the table. Veteran players are enjoying the fact that Royal Hold’Em offers them more play variety.
New Poker, LLC is relatively new to the poker community. So far they have proven their worth as an innovative gaming company, creating, testing, and marketing new games that are proving popular with the video game crowd. With the addition of traditional poker players being added to the mix, the company is already seeking a way to introduce more games to live casinos and poker rooms. They have a patent approved for another Hold’Em variation called ‘No River Hold’Em’ which allows ten players to compete against each other at a table. Once again it is played following the standard Texas Hold’Em rules with a 52 card deck, but players are dealt three cards instead of two and there is no river community card dealt. This game allows for a larger starting hand variety.
The company has already secured the distribution rights to a large selection of proprietary table games and they are working on distributing and licensing them to both online and live casinos.
Playing online pokies games and blackjack games online is far more convenient and just as much fun as playing at real casino.

Unless you follow poker news or play online poker, you may not realize that the World Series of Poker is getting set to begin at the Rio in Las Vegas. The biggest poker event of the year is almost here. However, the general advertising for this major poker championship has only just begun. Poker players from around the world are gearing up for the event that will begin in two weeks’ time, sharpening their skills, and preparing their poker face.
Players from all over the world will converge on the Rio to play the many Texas Hold’Em events that will determine the nine players who will sit down at the final table in November. They will have won their spots in the events by playing qualifying tournaments both at real live events and online events. Other players will be at the event to play other poker variations, such as Omaha and Stud games. Anyone going to the WSOP hopes to leave with one of the championship bracelets and their names on the winners’ list.
To many poker players, the WSOP is a chance to buy into a championship game for a small amount. Many people qualify for the satellite games based on a small wager during the qualifiers that is a fraction of what the total buy-in could be. Some of the players also win sponsorships from the many different online poker rooms and actually get their buy-in money from the poker room themselves. Las Vegas was built on the hope that everyone who plays there – whether from China, England, Belgium or the United States – leaves the city with more than they arrived with.
Poker players have been preparing for the event for months, taking poker classes that help them work on their game, including strategies, bluffing, and other poker related issues. Whether they have been playing extra games at their local casinos or have joined online poker rooms to practice, players are hoping to be well prepared to face professional players such as Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson, and Phil Ivey. Players will need to be more prepared than ever as the competition continues to become tougher and tougher.
Even with the American economic slump affecting the world, casinos are still being built in the United States and proving to be successful. The popularity of poker – especially Texas Hold’Em – has helped the casinos grow. The WSOP is the best chance for a player to test their skills and is still the premier championship game on an international level.
If you have won a seat at the WSOP, we wish you the best of luck. Make sure you are prepared for the competition that awaits you and enjoy yourself while you are there, win or lose.
